Årets första Musikbranschdag hade temat Jazz & jazzmusiker i Öresundsregionen. Vilka arbetssätt, möjligheter och utmaningar har jazzmusiker, arrangörer, skivbolag etc idag och framöver? Hur har jazzen i regionen utvecklats genom åren och hur ser vägen framåt ut?

Jan Darius Monazahian from Deutsche jazz union

Jan has worked for many years at DEUTSCHE JAZZUNION with various projects with a particular focus on pedagogy. He studied jazz flute at the Music Institute at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. This talk is about the project Jazzpilots and the education of young jazz musicians.

Jazz Denmark och Nordic Jazz comets

Jazz Danmark contributes to spreading jazz and developing the whole musical life, by creating value for people through new meetings, experiences and collaborations - in and around jazz in Denmark and Danish jazz abroad. Camilla Juul Kjersgaard and Lars Thor Jensen, talks about the challenges and opportunities for jazz music in the Öresund region and about the project Nordic Jazz Comets.

 

TALKS, EXHIBITORS, SHOWCASE ARTISTS AND ONLINE PARTICIPANTS

FRØYDIS BERGHEIM RUUD - LABEL CONSULTANT AND MORE - EXHIBITOR

Through her newly started company Ruudidoodi, Frøydis works as a consultant for small independent record companies, with a focus on jazz, experimental and folk music. Today, she has, among other things, a close collaboration with the Norwegian jazz and folk music record company Motvind Records. She also takes on assignments as a producer, mentor, representative and other things that catch her interest. She has previously worked for Norway's largest independent record company Grappa Musikkforlag. As Label Manager for the renowned labels Hubro, Odin and Heilo, she managed a catalog of around 600 releases, with some of the leading Norwegian jazz and folk musicians over the last 40 years.

VINCENT DOMBROWSKI FROM THE JAZZ FEDERATION IN HAMBURG - ONLINE

The Jazz Federation is a non-profit organization that promotes the spread of jazz in Hamburg through concerts and projects. We rely on quality and teamwork.

Our goal is to offer our guests a varied and high-quality concert program at all times. With a mix of international and Hamburg groups, we want to ensure concert experiences that people will remember fondly. We also support the Hamburg jazz scene in a variety of ways and implement projects in Hamburg schools.

JUTÉUS 3 - SHOWCASE

Over the last seven years Jutéus 3 has been working together as a group as well as a rhythm section on the Swedish and international jazz scene. The unmistakable style of the trio springs from an original way of improvising and their own romantic motifs that characterize the original compositions. Their wide-ranging repertoire also reveals a passion for jazz tradition and iconic pop-idols like Simon & Garfunkel and Beatles. Jutéus 3 are soon ready to release their new album!

JAN DARIUS MONAHAZIAN - DEUTSCHE JAZZUNION - TALK

Jan has worked for many years at DEUTSCHE JAZZUNION with various projects with a particular focus on pedagogy. He studied jazz flute at the Music Institute at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. He also earned a master's degree in visual anthropology at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and researched improvisation in everyday life and jazz pedagogy in Germany. Together with a number of actors, he is in the process of creating a platform for jazz education and development for children and young people. Among other things, with the Musikcentrum's Knowledge Bank as a model.

ELVIRA RUNDERHEIM - PRODUCER - EXHIBITOR

My name is Elvira Frey and I am a producer and keyboardist based in Malmö. In the past I have done some collaborations within different genres such as R&B, neo-soul and country, but right now the focus is on jazz-inspired folk music. I have a small studio near Möllevångstorget and work mostly with acoustic instruments.

MATS HOLTNE - PRODUCER AT MUSIK i SYD - TALK

Today, Mats is a producer at Musik i Syd and has long been one of the innovative musicians who have characterized Malmö's jazz life, especially with his own constellations Mats Holtne Band and Laws of Chaos Double Trio. Mats has also made himself known on the European jazz scene through his collaborations with, among others, Ronan Guilfoyle, Iain Ballamy, Dominic Pifarely, Ernst Reijsiger, Lotte Anker and Tanya Kalmanovitch.

He is the former leader of the music department at Fridhem Folkhögskola - one of the leading jazz education programs in Sweden. He has also had international teaching assignments.

Mats is educated at the Academy of Music in Malmö and the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

Lars Thor Jensen, project manager, JazzDanmark - EXHIBITOR

The Nordic Jazz Comets project is about presenting the diverse Nordic jazz on international stages, and bringing the musicians, promotors and support organizations together to build the industry’s future on creativity and sustainable values.

JOSEPHINE STENSON AND IRENÈ NORD-ENGDAHL - EXHIBITOR

Jazz in Malmö is one of Sweden's most active jazz associations, which in 2025 celebrates a full 50 years. We currently arrange around 50 concerts and events annually at several different concert venues around Malmö. Our ambition is to promote both local, national and international impulses in jazz and we are happy at every concert to see an increasingly mixed audience, not least many young guys and girls.

Maja Kirchhoff - Music och inclusion - TALK

Maja Kirchhoff is a Malmö based vocalist with a bachelor's degree in jazz and improvisation from the University of Gothenburg, and a bachelor’s degree in gender studies from Lund University. During the music industry day, she will talk about equality and diversity on the Swedish jazz scene, about the importance of a broader perspective and about how we can work with inclusion in an industry that in many ways still shows great inequalities.

KARY PERSSON - EXHIBITOR

Jazzporten is a politically and religiously unbound jazz page and what is written here are my words and those of possible guest writers and collaborators. This means that there may well be values ​​here as well as other own opinions. News, blog posts, reviews of records, gigs, films, books and other exciting things will hopefully make Jazzporten as much fun as it is informative.

TILDA BJÖRNBERG - SHOWCASE

Tilda Björnberg is a jazz pianist, arranger and composer based in Malmö, Sweden.

Following preliminary studies in classical and jazz piano, Tilda entered the Malmö Academy of Music where she studied her bachelor in jazz for Jan Lundgren, Maggi Olin and Magnus Hjorth. Tilda has participated in several masterclasses with international musicians as Marilyn Crispell, Christine Jensen and Peter Evans. She was the 2022 recipient of the award ’’Stand By’’ by the Harry Arnold fund and has also received scholarships by the Sven Fredriksson pianist fund and The Swedish Royal Academy of Music, amongst others.

She participates in jazz groups including Tilda Björnberg Trio (SE), Tilda Björnberg/Jon Lipscomb (SE/US), Hampus Peterson Trio (SE) and Kristoffer Sjöström Trio (SE).

Stephan Jansson, who is responsible for production and label, has worked at Naxos for over 15 years and before that he worked as a trombonist both as an employee and in many freelance contexts.

The Swedish Jazz Association is a national confederation that works in promotion to strengthen the members and the conditions for jazz in Sweden. The organization wants to be a unifying voice for Sweden's jazz life and work to ensure that a greater diversity of music reaches existing and new listeners.

Jan Schmidt and Tom Jensen - APRIl RECORDS -Danish Jazz label - EXHIBITOR

April Records is a dynamic Danish jazz label based in Copenhagen. From 1994 to 2006, We  produced a total of 70 releases, starting with electronic music and gradually transitioning towards downtempo and future jazz. However, following our restart in 2020, We have dedicated our efforts exclusively to promoting Danish jazz. We have become a prominent platform for both emerging and established Danish jazz musicians, solidifying our position as a powerhouse in Danish jazz.

What sets April Records apart is our open-minded approach to jazz, driven by a genuine love and passion for every album We release. Jenna Nyman - Board member in IMPRA

IMPRA is a non-profit association working for an equal jazz scene and equal music life in Sweden. Through networking meet-ups, jam sessions, lectures and exposure of female and non-binary musicians and composers IMPRA is working towards the goal of an equal jazz scene and equal music community.

Besides being a third year bachelor student at the Academy och Music and Drama in Gothenburg, studying the Improvised music program, and an active musician on the stages of Sweden, Jenna is  very invested in equality work in the jazz field. She has been a board member in IMPRA for two years and is still going! Jenna has arranged jam sessions, networking evenings, released podcast episodes and contributed with her playful and open mind for IMPRA over her years working on the board. 

MATHIAS LANDAEUS - Musician and jazz club community founder - EXHIBITOR

Notoriously playful pianist and composer Mathias Landæus has released twenty albums as a leader on labels like Moserobie, Clean Feed, Prophone, Amigo and others. He lived in New York in the 1990's, where he studied with Jaki Byard and Richie Beirach, among others. After returning to Sweden he became an important figure on the Stockholm jazz scene. In addition to his inspiring work as a composer and musician, he has had a crucial role in building community by starting live scenes like the influential Glenn Miller Café in Stockholm, and the ongoing Club Underground in Lund, which he has been curating since 2010.
