Baltic Artists Tallinn session dec 2022

Baltic AID 2.0 TALLINN

Ukrainian band Kommissya plays at the showcase night in Tallinn. They were reunited for the first time since the start of the war and got the opportunity to record a song at a studio in Tallinn.

Baltic Artists TALLINN SESSION DEC 2022

The last part of our year-long program Baltic Artists in Development took place in Tallinn, hosted by our colleagues at Music Estonia. We were grated by a magical winter wonderland and an intensive program that got our participants to put more practical use to what they’ve learnt during this year.

We also got to see different sides to Tallinn, and learn more about Telliskivi Creative District, visit legendary music scenes such as Sveta bar and meet former participants in the project at Pohjala Factory (a former soviet rubber factory turned creative hub).

Our participants of music managers and artists from Poland, Sweden, Estonia and Ukraine exchanged ideas and knowledge about the music industry and got to meet representatives from the music industry that could give inside advice for the future.

We also had a super diverse and high quality showcase night at Kivi Paber Käärid, where Sophistication, Love Kjellsson, Roman Wróbliewski, Kommissiya and Horror Dance Squad played some tunes for us. We were extra proud to present our Ukrainian artists that were able to get a permit from the reality of war to come and join the project once again. Which of course felt very special for us.

But more than anything, this project has showed us once again the importance of networking on a human to human level, that’s where the magic is at in this industry. Really get to know people, and then you will find the right people to collaborate with.

We are grateful for this wonderful year, that has now come to an end and we are already working on the 3.0 version. We see so many ways for this project to develop and become an even stronger force to bring creative people from the Baltic region together to create magic.

Thanks to all of our participants and to our great hosts in Estonia for making this possible. Also thanks to our co-creators at Music Export Ukraine, Music Estonia and Takbrzmimiasto.
